The 2008 Ford Taurus brings with it a name that has been regarded as the best Sedan, manufactured by Ford Motors Company. With the coming of the new 2008 Taurus, the production of the Five Hundred series is stopped. The new Taurus comes in two, trim levels- base SEL and up-level Limited. Both all-wheel and front-wheel is there to consider with an MSRP range of $23,245 to $28,695. The Taurus is still a four-door, five passenger vehicle. The 2008 Ford Taurus is available in ten exterior paint colors and two interiors trim shades. This new line-up will play a very important role to Ford’s current and future success. Both users and car experts have done the Ford Taurus review

Exterior Look

The new 2008 Ford Taurus reflects an updated exterior styling. There are new sheetmetal from the windshield forward, while one can't ignore the three-bar chrome grille with new headlights. It brings a crisp and modern feel to the Taurus models. The smaller and lower-mounted side mirrors give better visibility and at the same time help in reducing the wind noise level.

Interior Cabin

The tall, “Command Seating” makes entry and exit easy and improves the down-the-road visibility. To keep 9 ft. long cargoes, the front passenger seat can be folded flat, while the rear seats split 60/40. Truly, Taurus has best-in-class legroom both in the front and the rear seat. There is a new steering wheel design and the front airbag helps in giving full protection to the driver and the front passenger. There are some eight cup-holders inside the cabin and reading lamps are included for the passengers.

Under the Hood

All the four Taurus models get life from a standard 3.5-liter Duratec V6 engine that gives 263 horsepower. This is quite a substantial improvement from the previous 3.0-liter V6’s output of 203 horsepower. Estimated fuel economy for FWD models is 18 mpg in city and 28 mpg on the highway, and the AWD vehicles give 17 mpg and 24 mpg respectively. The standard transmission is a six speed automatic with overdrive for outstanding efficiency. Taurus is the first vehicle to get a Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) rating.

Safety

Safety features are in abundance in the new 2008 Ford Taurus. There are air bags, rollover sensing, stability and traction control systems, crumple zones, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, tire pressure monitoring, the LATCH system for child safety seats, child safety locks on the rear doors, and the SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft System. With a 5-star safety Gold Award from IIHS, the Taurus becomes the Ford’s flagship sedan.

Overall, the 2008 Ford Taurus Wheels is a better deal.
