After the unsuccessful story of the Ford Five Hundred family-sized sedan, Ford to make an impact in this segment launched the 2008 Ford Taurus. The new line-up has been updated with new styling, more power and standard safety features, and a much quieter interior look. Ford’s current and future success depends on the success of the Taurus to some extent. After its launch in the markets some years back, the original Taurus was the best-selling family sedan in the United States.
Exterior Look
The new 2008 Ford Taurus Car was launched with an updated styling to make it stand out in the already over crowded market. With its new sheetmetal from the windshield forward, the Taurus definitely has more presence as compared to its predecessor. The front end is highlighted with a three-bar chrome grille with new rectangular headlights. Limited models are accented in chrome along the door handles, side vents and license plate decor strip. The SEL models come standard with 17-inch aluminum wheels, Limited trims get 18-inch aluminum rims, and 18-inch chrome wheels are optional. Beautiful Interior
The tall “Command Seating” gives more hype to the interior cabin of the 2008 Ford Taurus SUV and also improves the down-the-road visibility. The gauges have been slightly restyled and the steering wheel is new. Apart from these minor changes, the interior carries over relatively unchanged. Inside, the front passenger seat folds flat and the rear seats split 60/40 to get enough cargo space for items up to 9 ft. long. Taurus is still the best in class as far as the front and rear legroom, and noise levels in the spacious interior are taken into consideration. A navigation system, Sirius Satellite Radio, a DVD entertainment system and Ford's Sync system are available.

Under the Hood
The Taurus gets life with a new 3.5-liter Duratec V-6 engine that gives an estimated 260 horsepower, which is quite good as compared to the 203 horsepower of the 3.0-liter V-6 engine used in the Five Hundred. The new V-6 engine gets more powerful when a six-speed automatic transmission is added for more efficiency. Moreover, Taurus is the first car to earn the PZEV rating. It can tow up to 1,000 pounds when properly equipped. Fuel Efficient Power Steering (FEPS) varies power steering boost for maximum effectiveness and fuel economy. Safety
Standard safety features like all-disc antilock brakes; side-impact airbags for the front seats and side curtain airbags promise a more safe and comfortable ride for you and your family.
