2008 Ford Taurus Exterior Overview

The new 2008 Ford Taurus reflects updated styling sensibilities in the exterior segment by the manufacturer. It comes with an entirely new sheet metal from the windshield forward. The latest Ford Taurus line-up has more presence than its predecessor. The renovated front end with a three-bar chrome grille that is highlighted with new rectangular headlights defines the front fascia’s crisp and modern appearance. The sides are mostly unchanged, but the Limited level has chrome side vents, door handles and mirrors. New clear-lens attractive taillights adorn the rear look of the car. New smaller and lower-mounted side mirrors helps in improving the visibility level and also reduce wind noise. Apart from the bold chrome grill up front, there is something else that makes the exterior more attractive and appealing in nature. Shiny stuff on the fog lamp bezels, dual exhaust tips, fender vents and door handles along with the brow on the license plate in the Limited models also help a lot in making the exterior more striking.

Body Colors

The beauty of the exterior body of the latest Taurus is highlighted with the beautiful body colors like Titanium Green Clearcoat Metallic, Silver Birch Clearcoat Metallic, Oxford White Clearcoat, Merlot Clearcoat Metallic, Light Sage Clearcoat Metallic, Light Ice Blue Clearcoat Metallic, Dune Pearl Clearcoat Metallic, Dark Ink Blue Clearcoat Metallic, Black Clearcoat and Alloy Clearcoat Metallic.

Engine

An improved powertrain is something to look forward to in the 2008 Ford Taurus Car. Its new 3.5-liter Duratec V6 engine gives 260 horsepower, which is quite improved as compared to the previous 3.0-liter V6’s output of 203 horsepower. A new six-speed automatic transmission has also been added for more efficiency. Moreover, the latest Taurus has a Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) rating in states that follow California’s strict emission guidelines. It is the first V6 vehicle to earn the PZEV rating. The revised front shock towers, allows for 10 mm more travel. New front springs and dampers along with an upgraded rear suspension provide a more luxurious ride in the 2008 Ford Taurus. Fuel Efficient Power Steering (FEPS) varies power steering boost, maximizing effectiveness and economy. SEL models come standard with 17-inch aluminum wheels, Limited trims get 18-inch aluminum rims, and 18-inch chrome wheels are optional.
