2008 Ford Taurus Specification - Engine

Ford Motors Company launches the 2008 Ford Taurus in the market with some 500 improvements. The restyled Taurus is more distinctive, quieter, faster and safer. Taurus is available in SEL and Limited trims, and is built at Ford's Chicago Assembly Plant. Smooth Ride

The Duratec 3.5L V6 engine offers a generous boost to the smooth performance ride. From 153 horse power in the earlier Taurus models to an impressive 230 horsepower will definitely help to make the sales chart go higher and higher. There is an increase of nearly 30 percent from the previous engine. This engine configuration gives 245 pound-feet of torque. To make out the best of the V6 engine it is paired with a six speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission is standard on both the front- wheel and all-wheel drive models. This not only gives a smooth shifting, but also helps the users to experience a comfortable ride.

Improved Fuel Consumption

Importantly to customers, even with more power and performance, the 2008 Taurus provides almost 10-percent fuel economy improvement than the outgoing Five Hundred. With the advancements in powertrain technology, there is an increase of approximately 2 mpg of fuel economy on the highway.
